Le Passif

On ne peut pas traduire la phrase anglaise my question has not been answered par ma question n'a pas été répondue parce qu'on répond à une question en français (le mot question est un COI, non un COD dans la phrase active française). Il faut plutôt dire : on n'a pas répondu à ma question.

En français, seul un verbe transitif direct (un verbe suivi d’un COD) peut être mis à la voix passive, mais en anglais, on peut par exemple mettre le verbe intransitif to sleep à la voix passive (it's obvious this bed has not been slept in). En français, il faut dire : il est évident que personne n'a dormi dans ce lit ou il est évident que ce lit n'a pas été défait.

Devant le complément d’agent, par est la construction habituelle avec des noms déterminés et des verbes pris au sens concret, propre ou des verbes qui indiquent une action physique.
La préposition de s’emploie avec des noms sans article et des verbes d’émotion, de sentiment ou pris au sens figuré.
Le voleur a été pris par la police.
Le voleur a été pris de peur.

Je détecte les ondes qui viennent de loin et convergent jusqu’à moi. Des dizaines d’êtres vivants de toutes tailles, de toutes formes frémissent, respirent, pensent, émettent dans leur langage propre, et me font vibrer comme le bourdonnement des mouches fait osciller à distance la surface d’une toile d’araignée.

Je garde les yeux clos, j’écoute avec tous mes sens physiques et psychiques.

Là par exemple, je sens une onde.

Pas de doute, il y a un être qui réfléchit dans ma zone de sensibilité.

Je perçois une pensée inquiète.

J’ouvre les yeux, je cherche la source d’émission, je m’avance dans la direction d’où provient le signal.

Je la vois. Elle est très belle.

Je continue d’avancer, à petits pas.

Mon système olfactif et mon système auditif complètent mon analyse.

Son parfum naturel est subtil.

Ses grands yeux bruns anxieux scrutent les alentours.

Elle déguste du bout des lèvres un gâteau crémeux. Visage fin, dents blanches étincelantes. Ses doigts aux longs ongles noirs sont fébriles, crispés sur la friandise.

Je peux même distinguer ses empreintes sur le sol poussiéreux. Je les suis un temps, puis elles disparaissent.

Je pense que des années d’incompréhension entre nos deux espèces ne participent guère à surmonter notre méfiance mutuelle. Je me concentre et envoie un message télépathique suivi par un ronronnement en ondes à fréquences basses.

Je ne souhaite pas vous tuer mais simplement dialoguer d’esprit conscient à esprit conscient.
